Every cordless vacuum lasts 60 minutes.Until you read the asterisk*.
Ten of Amazon's best-selling cordless vacuums, reduced to the specs that matter for pet hair, floors and storage. Plus the footnote that changes each one.

§4 · Exploded view
Tap a part. Read what the listing won't tell you.
SELECT A PART
Six parts, six questions.
Every number on a vacuum listing belongs to one of these parts. Tap one to see what to check.
PART 01 · BATTERY
The runtime lives here
Find the mode and attachment behind the headline minutes. "At the handheld" means no powered floor head.
PART 02 · MOTOR
Power, in watts or air watts
W is input power; AW is suction. Listings mix the two, so compare like with like.
PART 03 · FILTER
Filter vs sealed system
"HEPA filter" and "sealed system" are different claims. The seal stops dust leaking out around the filter.
PART 04 · DUST BIN
The bin nobody measures
Reviewers flag small bins first. With a shedder, a dock or a bigger bin beats more suction.
PART 05 · WAND
Bend, length, storage
A bending wand reaches under the sofa; a self-standing design saves you drilling a wall mount.
PART 06 · FLOOR HEAD
Where hair wraps
Look for a named anti-wrap design: fins, combs, a self-cleaning roller. "Pet" in the name isn't one.
§5 · Asterisk ledger
The claim, the condition, and what reviewers measured.
Claims and conditions from each listing or manufacturer page. Reviewer figures are from the linked independent reviews, not ours; we haven't timed anything.
About 34 min in min mode with the main brush; about 8 min in Jet mode futurezone (in German)
§6 · Datasheets
All ten, ranked. Open a drawer for the full sheet.
How we ranked: demand we could verify (Amazon "bought in past month" badges on Oct 23, 2026), how completely the listing states its specs and conditions, and how consistent independent reviewer themes are. Not hands-on performance: we haven't used these vacuums.

What independent reviewers report: Just a Dad Approved calls the blue dirt-reveal light more than a gimmick on hard floors, but warns that the 40-minute figure is measured at the hand vac and that boost needs a spring-loaded trigger held down. Nordic Design rates it recommended with caveats: strongest for mixed floors and pet hair, weaker if runtime is your top priority. Sources: Just a Dad Approved, Nordic Design. Paraphrased; accessed Oct 23, 2026.

What independent reviewers report: TechRadar calls it a very good budget vacuum that is light and handles hard floors and rugs well, but says suction struggles in carpet-heavy homes and with larger debris. TechGearLab finds it shines on low-pile carpet but not on shag. Tech Advisor flags the small bin and a 4 to 5 hour recharge. Sources: TechRadar, TechGearLab, Tech Advisor. What independent reviewers report: TechRadar praises strong suction for the class, an excellent upholstery tool and the self-standing design, but flags a smaller-than-average bin and short runtime in medium mode. Tom's Guide likes the very bright LEDs but says the FurFinder tool bogs down on most surfaces except hardwood. TechGearLab rates it well on carpet and hard floors but only so-so on pet hair. What independent reviewers report: TechRadar calls it superb, with very powerful suction, a useful Auto mode and a laser that highlights dust, but notes it feels heavy (especially as a handheld), recharges slowly and needs a trigger held down. Trusted Reviews adds that the laser only works on hard floors. Good Housekeeping points out it doesn't stand up on its own, so a wall mount is best. What independent reviewers report: Tom's Guide, reviewing the closely related PowerDetect Clean & Empty System (IP3251), says it handled debris of every size, detected floor types and reached under low furniture with the bending wand. The caveats: it is top-heavy, its sensors need regular cleaning, and the base only auto-empties with the wand attached. Sources: Tom's Guide. Paraphrased; accessed Oct 23, 2026.

What independent reviewers report: Good Housekeeping UK still calls it its best-value cordless, with strong pickup and a de-tangling head that cleared pet hair, though you keep a finger on the button and max mode lasts about seven minutes. Business Insider calls it very light and easy to manoeuvre, but says boost is too short to be very useful and a full charge takes about five hours. Sources: Good Housekeeping UK, Business Insider.
