Leave it ifYou're on Android, or you want it to clip straight onto keys. There's still no keyring hole

    What independent reviewers said

Macworld lists it as louder than the original with a longer Precision Finding range, and measured that range about 40 percent wider; its cons are the same chubby shape with no keyring hole. MacRumors found it noticeably louder.

Put one in the checked bag, not the carry-on. Plan on a holder: it still has no hole.

Leave it ifYou edit photos or need it away from power. Reviewers measured weak color, and there's no battery

    What independent reviewers said

TechRadar says it does everything a basic 1080p portable monitor should, but measured just 64% sRGB. GamesRadar+ calls the visuals respectable and flags no built-in battery and painful on-screen controls. ServeTheHome calls it a decent extra screen or inexpensive travel monitor.

Check your laptop's USB-C does video before you buy. If it does, it's one cable to a second screen.

A light bar that clamps on top of your monitor and lights the desk without glare on the screen. Powered from a USB-A port.

It frees desk space instead of using it. PCWorld's caveats, in a 2018 review, are about the webcam and the auto mode.

Pack it ifYour desk is small and the overhead light glares off the screen
Leave it ifYou rely on a webcam clipped to the top of the monitor. PCWorld says it'll block most of them

    What independent reviewers said

PCWorld's 2018 review likes that it doesn't eat any desktop space, and says its main drawback besides cost is that it will block most webcams.

Measure the webcam spot first. Everything else on it is about getting a lamp off the desk.

    What independent reviewers said

PCMag's 2015 review lists the QWERTY keyboard and saved labels as pros, and an LCD that isn't backlit and no PC or Mac connection as cons.

Label both ends of every cable. Batteries aren't in the box, so add them to the cart.

Pack it ifYou charge from airport, plane or hotel USB-A ports
Leave it ifYour cable is USB-C on the charger end, or you want fast charging. Buy the matching PortaPow version or bring a power bank

    What independent reviewers said

AFAR explains that a data blocker has its two data wires physically removed, so your device charges without transferring data.
